Designing a portfolio for clients to browse through is one of the most important things you will do as an artist. When attempting to sell your work, you need to have your best products to show your potential clients so that you can draw them in. Whether your products involve photography, digital art or paintings, you're going to need to be able to have something to show your clients that demonstrates your skill, your style and your passion for your work. If you market products on several different types of mediums you need to have an example of each one. For example, if you put together photo-books for weddings, you should have a small one put together as a sample. If you offer portraits on canvas, you should have a couple of canvases that showcase your work. Your potential clients need to be able to get a feel for your style and attention to detail. You want them to get excited about the possibilities of their lives being recorded by you. Therefore, only your best work will do. It's a good idea to always include a section in your contracts with clients that they can agree to that allows you to use their images in your portfolios. Not all of your clients will agree to this, of course, but enough will that you will always have fresh material to show your clients. No matter how amazing an artist you are, your style will grow and develop as the years go on so current examples of your work are important. So remember, bring your photo-books, canvases and other examples of your work with you when you meet with potential clients.
"We love the gift our children had made for our 40 th anniversary. It looks like a real oil painting and the most amazing thing is it was created from several photos and combined into one big edited photo ready for printing it onto canvas. We are in different parts of the country and our children took individual pictures and with the great help of the company we now have all our loved ones in one picture. We framed it and it is now hanging in our living room.
